Pop along to Emmaus in Portslade as they launch their Community Allotment and Garden Centre 11am till 3pm. All welcome.

Details here.

The greenhouse is no ordinary garden centre. It's an extraordinary place where a love of gardening and a collective creative imagination combine to inspire all who visit.

Get a taste for growing your own with a visit to the greenhouse Community Garden, which has been created by a team of Emmaus Companions and volunteers for growing organic seasonal produce. Explore the magical grounds or browse through the fantastic selection of plants, second-hand gardening books, furniture and tools

A visit to the greenhouse will ignite your imagination and inspire you to paint your own signature across your outdoor space.

Earth Hour Walk 2012

On 23rd March 2013, once again, millions of famous landmarks, tourist attractions, government buildings and ordinary people from all over the world will join up and turn off their lights for one hour, to raise awareness of climate change and power wastage.

Turn up and take part at Brighton & Hove's Earth Hour walk on the Seafront to help mark the biggest environmental event in history.

Last year nearly 300 people gathered at the Bandstand for music and a torch-lit Healthwalk along the seafront. This year is going to be even bigger, with a lantern making workshop held by Same Sky before the event, music, singing and a chance to make a pledge to help the environment on our Wish Tree, and be in with a chance of a free ride on the Brighton Wheel!

Meet at the Bandstand to register from 7.30pm

Lights go out and walk leaves at 8.30pm

Finishes at the Brighton Wheel
