Reduce
Reduce is one step away from the top of the waste hierarchy. At this stage you are making conscious decisions around how much stuff you acquire. You are buying less and don’t buy much stuff which has a negative impact on the environment
Refuse
Refuse is at the very top of the waste hierarchy. At this stage you will have stopped buying products which have a negative impact on the environment.
Renewable
Renewable energy is energy that is collected from renewable resources, which are naturally replenished on a human timescale, such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides, waves, and geothermal heat.
Reuse
Reuse sits right in the middle of the Waste Hierachy. At the very heart of reuse is a single key principle; we need to prolong the life of everything by using things over and over again.
There are 2 aspects to reuse;
let go of anything you no longer use so other people can make use of it; you can sell it, you can lend it or you can give it away
when you need something aim to borrow or hire before choosing to purchase
